Built in 1868, the Joseph Hall Cottage is one of Cape May’s most recognized Victorian landmarks — a masterwork of Italianate gingerbread architecture nestled in the heart of the National Historic Landmark District. The cottage is making its debut as a vacation rental this summer, managed by Eastcote Homestays. Interiors are currently being curated with new furnishings ahead of the 2026 rental season; listing photos will be updated prior to first guest arrival. The bones — original hardwood floors, period fireplaces, soaring entry hall — are extraordinary, and the finished space will be nothing less.

The wraparound Victorian porch with rocking chairs sets the tone the moment you arrive. Inside, original architectural details — carved woodwork, period mantlepieces, generous room proportions — have been lovingly preserved. This is a home that rewards slow mornings and lingering evenings.

The fully fenced rear yard offers privacy rare for in-town Cape May. Grill out, rinse off at the outdoor shower after the beach, and let the evening unfold on the porch as the neighborhood lights up at dusk. Off-street parking for multiple vehicles is included — a genuine luxury in Cape May in July.

Rates & Availability

Cancellation Policy: One hundred percent (100.00%) of the total booking charges (less $150.00 taxable cancellation fee) will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 60 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. Fifty percent (50.00%) of the total booking charges (less $150.00 taxable cancellation fee) will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 30 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. For cancellations made within 30 days prior to the arrival date, no refund will be issued.
